Fishport and the village of Fiskardo are located in the north of the east coast of Kefalonia.
The small harbor of Friscardo is almost always crowded and you have to arrive early to find a spot at the pier, especially during the peak months of July and August. Even arriving as early as mid-day, you will likely only be able to anchor with lines taking ashore on the north side of the bay. Shelter in the harbor is excellent in the prevailing north-westerly winds, but in strong southerly and south-easterly winds it is best to look for another anchorage.
There are several choices for mooring yachts in the harbor:
Breakwater
About 10-12 yachts can moor on the short breakwater at the south-east end of the harbor, although half of the inside is reserved for use by a passenger ferry and should be vacated if needed. Depths along the inner and outer sides and at the end of the breakwater are less than a 1 meter because of the rocks surrounding the breakwater, but beyond that are 3.0 to 4.0 meters deep, so the mooring lines should be quite long.
South Waterfront
About 6-8 yachts can be moored stern or bow to the waterfront at their own anchor. It has 2-3 private berths, which should be avoided. Depths range from 1.0 meter on the east end to 1.5 meters on the west end, again due to the rocks that surround the waterfront, just beyond the depths of 3.0 to 3.5 meters. Mooring rings of stainless steel on the waterfront or rusty iron ones on the vertical wall of the waterfront.
West Waterfront
About 6-8 yachts can moor at this waterfront at a depth of 2-3 meters. There are also several private berths on the waterfront. Mooring rings of stainless steel and two bollards are difficult to see against the background of the tavern.
Ferry pier
Overnight moorings are possible for 2-3 yachts at the ferry pier on the north side of the harbor ещ east of the small pebble beach. Yachts moored here will have to leave before 11:00 a.m., when the ferries begin to use the pier. Depths here range from 3.25 meters on the west end to 1.5 meters on the east end.
Along the north shore of the bay there is a good anchorage for 10-12 boats with a lines ashore at 10-12 meters depth. On shore the ropes can be fixed by stainless steel rings set into the rocks. The anchor holds quite well in sand and some algae.
There are also some very attractive fjord coves south of Fiskardo.
If necessary, you can refuel with water, getting it from the nearest tavern. There are several grocery stores and many taverns on the shore.
