Antisamos Bay ( Ormos Antisamos) is located on the east coast of Kefalonia 13.5 miles north-west of the south-eastern tip of the island.
Usually yachts are anchored off the north-west or south-east shore of the bay. Anchor at a depth of 10-15 meters. The bottom is seaweed, mud and small patches of sand. It is not always possible to fix an anchor on the bottom at the first attempt. At the north-western shore it is recommended to take lines from stern to shore. The bay shelters yachts well from the north-west winds that prevail in the summer, but when it blows hard enough, yachts twist 360 degrees around their anchors. Two underwater cables are marked on the map. Anchoring between them is not recommended.
The bay is quite crowded in summer and despite its large size it is not always easy to find a place to anchor during the day. On the south-west shore of the bay is an equipped beach with a tavern, bar and water sports equipment. From the beach there is a popular hiking trail to Koutsoupia beach (2.5 hours one way).
