The small Greece island of Forimikoula is located one mile south-west of the island of Kalamos in the so-called Inner sea, which is surrounded by the islands of Lefkas, Ithaca, Kefalonia and Zakynthos on the west and the Greece mainland on the east.
Formikoula is an uninhabited island. There is a lighthouse on the north of the island. The shores are formed by low rocks of bizarre shapes with many grottos. The surface of the island is overgrown with shrubs. The coastline is very indented. In calm weather, yachts can be anchored in almost any bay of the island. The eastern bay is suitable for night anchorage and has been sheltered from the prevailing northerly and north-westerly winds.
