Yachts mooring on buoys in Payar Island Marine Park

Payar Island Marine Park (Pulau Payar Marine Park) is a small group of four islands located 18 miles south-east of Langkawi.

The Payar Islands are a protected marine park, anchoring or fishing is not allowed under any circumstances within a two mile radius around the islands. There are mooring buoys on the eastern side of the Payar Islands near the big Langkawi Coral where yachts can moored during the day.

The best beach is on the east side of Pulau Payar, but beware of the shallow waters at the north and south ends of the island. The islands are completely unprotected at all times of the year and so the mooring buoys cannot be used for overnight mooring.
