The Kilim River is located in the northern part of Langkawi Island. It is famous for the Kilim Geopark located in its basin.
The entrance to the Kilim River is opposite the western end of Palau Lanngun Island. This place is called "Hole in the Wal". You can anchorage at the entrance or go a little further in the shallow water to where the depth increases (1).
The second option of anchorage your yacht is at the mooring buoys by the restaurant in the river flowing to Kilim River at the right (2), 0.7 mile from the entrance. Yachts here are moored at two buoys, stern and bow. The buoys are owned by Rahmad, a colorful local restaurant owner (012 562 0015), where you can eat fresh fish. You can also refuel here with water from jerry can. Price of mooring on the buoys is 10 ringgit per night. Here you can also rent a boat for an excursion to Geopark Kilim.
