Waterfall Telaga Tujuh or Seven Wells gets its name from the seven small pools of wells that are "dug out" in the rock by the water of the stream. This stream flows down from the second highest mountain on the island, lingers briefly at the site of the wells, and then falls down from a height of thirty meters. This is a very beautiful place that is worth seeing with your own eyes and capturing on your camera. In addition, be sure to swim in the lake-wells. The water in them is cool, and it will be a real salvation from the heat, and even after a long climb up.
A well-equipped stairway of 638 steps leads to the waterfall (20-40 minute walk), starting from the parking area. About halfway up, you can divert to see the waterfall from below, and then continue up to the pad, where the coveted cool pools are located. The site is equipped with gazebos, there are toilets and cabins for changing after swimming. Just keep on your things, as they can be stolen by the monkeys that live there.
The eco-trail to the top of Mount Mat Cincang, just over 700 meters high, continues from the site upwards. This trek doesn't require any special preparation, but you need to be in good physical shape. You will have to climb a little more than 220 meters to the top. The climb takes two to three hours.
The starting point of the trail is marked by a large poster on which the route is drawn. The trail is not specially equipped, but it is quite recognizable. In several places it crosses the creeks by bridges. When you reach the top, you will have a wonderful view of the archipelago, as good as the views from the cable car viewpoint.
Operating Time: The waterfall can be visited at any time of the day. It looks best during the rainy season (September-October), as during the dry season the water falls from the cliff in a thin stream. Hiking on the opposite is best during the dry season from November to March.
Ticket price: free.
How to get there: Seven Wells is located near Oriental Village, not far from Pantai Kok Beach. If you are staying at Pantai Kok Beach, you can also walk to the waterfall if you wish. From other beaches you have to take a cab or a rental car. There are stores, cafes and a parking at the waterfall. It costs 1 ringgit to park a motobike and 2 for a car. From here to the waterfall and to the top, you have to walk up.
