Yacht anchorage in Mavrona Bay

Mavrona Bay (Ormos Mavrona) is one of the bays of the rather large Frikes Bay in the north-east of Ithaki Island. On the maps the bay is unnamed. We call the bay by the name of the beach in it.

The bay is quite deep, so yachts are anchored along the shores of the bay, most often take lines from stern to shore. The bottom is seaweed and sand. The largest areas of sand are in the eastern part of the bay.
