Kithnos is one of the Cyclades islands. Kithnos is located between the islands of Kea and Serifos.
Kithnos has shape elongated from north to south. The coastline of the island is very indented with many bays suitable for anchoring yachts, especially on the east and west coasts of the island. The two main harbors are the main ferry port of Merikas on the west coast and the popular Loutra harbor on the north-east coast, where usually are moored many yachts.
Kithnos is on the western edge of the prevailing meteorological system in the Aegean Sea and does not usually experience very strong winds, such as the islands further east.
Kithnos is often included in the itineraries of the Cyclades by yachtsmen traveling on charter yachts rented in Athens and Lavrio.
