Merichas Harbor is located on the west side of Kythnos Island, five miles south of Cape Kefalos at its northern tip of island. Merichas is the main ferry port of the island. It is located in the south-east corner of Merichas bay. Merichas Harbor provides fairly good shelter for yachts from Meltemi, whose gusts mostly come here from the north-east.

The yachts usually moor to the waterfront with their stern or even alongside in low season with their own anchors. Depths near the waterfront are 3.0 - 5.0 m. Anchor holds well in sand and mud. Shelter is good from the prevailing north-east winds, but poor when blowing from the west. In strong westerly winds, the harbor is unsuitable for mooring yachts.

When ferries come in, there are quite large waves that can cause damage to yachts, so it is worth setting fairly long mooring lines.

There is also a floating pontoon on the south side of the bay which you can utilise although there is no power or water. In addition, you can be anchored in the bay at a depth of 5-20 meters, but so as not to interfere with the ferries.
