Fikiada and Kolona Bays are located on the west side of the island of Kithnos, 1.7 miles north-west of Merichas. The bays are formed by the coast of Kithnos and a small peninsula. The bays are separated by a low, narrow sand bar.
Yachts are anchored all around the area of both bays at depths of 3-20 meters. The bottom is sand and seaweed. Holdsing is good. Both bays shelters the yachts well from Meltemi. Kolona Bay is open to west winds and Fikiada to east winds. Kolona Bay is better sheltered from southerly winds than Fikiada.
There is a small tavern near the isthmus. There is a church on the peninsula and a hot spring on the north shore of Kolona Bay. Gorgeous sunsets.
Both bays are very popular and crowded. In high season there are water cabs to Merichas.
