Phang Nga National Park is located in Phang Nga Province in southern Thailand. It was established by royal decree and was declared in the Royal Gazette under No. 98, Section 64 of 29 April 1981.
It includes the coastal areas of Muang Phang Nga District and Takua Tung District. Most of the park is located in the waters of Phang Nga Bay in the Andaman Sea dotted with numerous limestone karst islands and only 20% of the park's area is on the mainland. The national park includes 42 islands. The Park is home to some of the largest mangrove forests in Thailand.
Very interesting natural formations on the islands of Phang Nga Bay are hongs (Hongs) - holes in the rock islands at the base of which is either water sandy bottom or clay swamp with mangroves. Many hongs are only accessible through caves at high tide when some caves are flooded and visiting individual hongs becomes possible only at low tide.
The most popular places in the Park are James Bond Island and the Sea Gypsy Village.
