Yacht anchorage at the east coast of Racha Noi Island in Banana Bay

Banana Bay is located on the east coast of Racha Noi Island.

Yachts are anchored at depths of 10-20 meters on the sandy bottom. Holding is good. There are a few buoys but during the day they are usually occupied by tourist and dive boats. During the southwest monsoon season the east coast of Ko Racha Noi provides good shelter for overnight yachts anchorage.

There are two small beaches on shore with excellent snorkeling and diving although there are sometimes strong currents. The place is quite noisy during the day because tourists from Phuket and novice divers are here. In the evening when the tourist boats leave the bay becomes quiet and peaceful.

Local squid fishermen sometimes use this bay as a daytime shelter. The northern and western beaches of the island are 20-minute walk through the coconut plantations.
