Yacht anchorage in Racha Yai Bay

Yacht anchorage is located on the northwest side of the island of Racha Yai.

The best anchorage for yachts is 10-15 meters deep on the sand. It is preferable to anchor away from the inner bay with live corals. There are also sandy spots closer but the skipper of the yacht must be sure that he will not damage the reefs and the anchor will not get stuck in them. There are also buoys in the bay which a yacht can use but they are usually occupied by locals and their reliability is questionable. The cove shelters yachts well from winds from all directions, except the northwest.

Great snorkeling on the reefs attracts not only sailors but also many tourists from Phuket which are delivered here on speedboats. There are three small restaurants on the shore specializing in seafood.
