Sciacca

The town of Sciacca is located about 30 miles north-west of Porto Empedocles and the same distance south-east of Mazzara del Vallo on Sicily. Sciacca spreads in an amphitheater along the shore of the Strait of Sicily, between the estuaries of the Platani and Belice rivers, at an altitude of 65 meters above sea level.

Sciacca is located 120 km from Palermo International Airport and 220 km from Catania. In the summer season there are charter flights from Europe to Catania and Palermo.

The large commercial harbor, located below the cliff on which the town is located, has three pontoons for mooring yachts on the west side of the harbor.

Sciacca has resort importance, famous for the sulphur and iodine baths from the springs on Mount San Calogero.
