Ligurian coast of Italy is less frequented by charter yachts than other parts of Italy. This is due, first of all, with insufficient number of charter companies in this region. Therefore, most yachts chartered on the French Côte d'Azur usually sail down the French Riviera coast to Corsica and then Sardinia. Liguria is nevertheless a beautiful area ith some attractive harbors and anchorages. The Ligurian coast stretches from the French border near San Remo to Livorno, and includes the main ports of Genoa and La Spezia, as well as yacht marinas, and fishports (from west to east) in San Remo, Aregai, Andora, Alassio, Finale, Savona, Varazze, Arenzano, Rapallo, Chiavari and Lavagna. Many Italian and French sailors fill them during the high season, especially on weekends.
