Savona

Savona is the third largest city in Liguria, after Genoa and La Spezia. Savona  is a seaport and comune in the west part of the northern Italian region of Liguria, capital of the Province of Savona, in the Riviera di Ponente on the Mediterranean Sea. Savona is the main center of the Italian Riviera. It is located on the Gulf of Genoa, 19 miles west-southwest of Genoa.

Savona is a city with a rich history and well-preserved sights, especially from the medieval period.

The port of Savona is considered the second most important in the region. It is the home port of the giant carrier Costa Crociere, which offers budget Mediterranean cruises.

The nearest international airports to Savona are Genoa (50 km) and Milan (170 km).

Savona is usually visited by yachts traveling from Italy to France or back. There is a marina in the port where you can keep your yacht while exploring the city.
