Levanto is a comune (municipality) in the province of La Spezia in the Italian region of Liguria, located in 33 miles south-east of Genoa and about 14 miles north-west of La Spezia.
The town lies on the coast at the estuary of a river valley, between hills covered with dense olive and pine trees. The ridges on either side of the valley extend into the sea as the Cape Mesco and Levanto. The municipality is part of the coastal area known as Comunità Montana della Riviera Spezzina. Part of its territory is included in the Cinque Terre National Park.
Levanto has a centuries-old history and well-preserved sights, mostly from the Middle Ages.
Yachts can anchor in the bay when the weather is suitable.
