Santa Margherita is a chic beach resort located two miles north of Portofino and just over a mile from Rapallo on the eastern part of Italy's Ligurian coast.
Santa Margherita was formerly an important fishing port. Today, however, it has become primarily a tourist port with a waterfront that is an attractive jumble of fishermen's houses and luxury hotels and restaurants.
The lively harbor of the town offers a convenient alternative to the crowded Portofino and vibrant Rapallo for yachts cruising along the eastern part of the Ligurian coast.
Yachts can be moored at the piers or anchored in the bay.
