Cres Island lies in the Kvarner Gulf off the eastern coast of the large Istria peninsula in Croatia, between the peninsula and the islands of Krk and Rab. Its northern tip is 11 miles south-south-west of the large commercial port of Rijeka. On the south-west coast near the town of Osor Cres is connected by a lifting road bridge with Losinj Island.
Many yacht anchorages around the island, interesting nature, original architecture and rich history make Cres very attractive to yachtsmen.
The island of Cres is often visited by yachtsmen travelling on charter yachts rented in Pula, Veruda, Pomer.
