Cres Town is located in the northern corner of Cres Bay, which is a large enclosed bay extending from north-west to south-east. Cres Bay, in turn, is located in a large Gulf of Valun on the north-west of Cres Island.
1 - Harbor breakwater
Yachts with a draft of up to 2 meters can be moored on the outer side of the long west breakwater of the harbor.
The depths inside the harbor are too shallow for most yachts. Along the breakwater there are 10 mooring lines for yachts. The depths here are about 2.0-3.0 meters. Water and electricity are available along the breakwater. Shelter here is good in most conditions, although there is some uncomfortable dead swell in strong westerly winds. Strong easterly winds can also make mooring here uncomfortable.
2 - City Quay
Alternatively, the yachts can be moored to the long pier just south-east of the entrance to the city harbor, away from the ferry if there is mooring space.
The depths here are 3.0 - 4.0 m, water and electricity are available. This pier is heavily used by hotel boats and excursion boats, so during the season you will probably be asked to move to another location. The shelter here is better than on the breakwater and only strong winds from the north-west can create a problem.
3 - Shipyard
The shipyard (Brodogradiliste) of Cres just east of the city dock has 25 berths for yachts.
Mooring yachts on stationary mooring lines, there is water and electricity, toilets and showers. Depths are 4.0 - 5.0 meters. The shelter is good from all sides, except for the west wind. You can approach the pier directly behind the city pier.

4 - Anchorage
You can be anchored at the exit of the town bay, just east of the small cape Rt. Melin. Good shelter from all winds except northwest. The depths are between 4.0 and 6.0m. Holding is goodon silt and sand.
Warning!!! There is a reef extending 100 meters south of Rt. Melin.
