Yacht anchorage in Royale Bay

Anse Royale is located on the east coast of Mahe just a little less than four miles from the southern tip of the island.

Royale Bay is a good anchorage during the winter north-west monsoon season. The reef protects the bay from all winds and waves, except eastward. The depths in the center of the bay are about 5 meters. You need to choose a sandy area of the bottom then the anchor will hold well.

Royale Bay is one of the few anchorages on Mahe that are sheltered yachts from winter winds.

There are many hotels, restaurants and stores on the shore.
