Major Bay (Anse Major) is located in the north-west of the Mahe.
The Major is one of the two small bays marked as Anse Major on the Navionics charts. Major is the north-east bay.
An anchor is at 5-10 meters depth at the entrance of the bay. For the anchor to hold well you need to choose patches of sand. Major Bay is more suitable for anchoring yachts in the summer months when the south-east monsoon blows. In winter you can anchored here only in the calm.
There is a sandy beach on the shore. The cove is more frequently visited than neighboring Jasmin. On the north shore of the cove on a hill is an view point, to which a trail that begins on the beach.
