Private Fregate Island is the easternmost of the granite Inner Seychelles islands located 34 miles east of Mahe.
Fregate is primarily known for its secluded private luxury resort the Oetker Collection, which is sponsoring an ecological program to restore habitats and protect rare species of flora and fauna. Anse Victorine Beach was named the best beach in the world by The Times.
The island was named by explorer Lazar Pico because there are abundance of frigate birds on it.
Anchorage for yachts is possible in the north of the island. On the east of the island there is a small private marina, which can be entered only by invitation of the owner of the island.
