Mahe Island

Mahe is one of the islands of the Seychelles archipelago located in the Indian Ocean belongs to the State of Seychelles. Mahe is the largest of the Seychelles archipelago. The size of the island is 25 by 8 km. The highest point on Mahe reaches 905 meters above sea level. The area of the island is 155 square kilometers. The number of inhabitants - 72,000 people, representing 80% of the population of the state. The capital of the state, Victoria are located on the Mahe. Victoria is a trading port and an international airport. In addition, Victoria is the yacht center of the Seychelles.

There is a yacht marina in the capital and many anchorages and mooring buoys along the shores of the island.

The attractions of the island are mainly of natural character. The Seychelles Morne National Park and the numerous beaches are the main attractions. Other attractions are concentrated in the island's capital Victoria.

Some charter companies are based on Mahe. Thay are providing bareboat yachts for rent and quite a number of different yachts with crew. Small motor yachts and sea fishing boats are also available for rent. Mahe is the most convenient place in Seychelles to start and finish a yacht charter, as only this island has an international airport.
