Saint Vincent and Grenadines is an island country in the West Indies, located in the southern part of the Windward. It stretches south from St. Vincent for about 70 miles. The main and largest island of the archipelago, St. Vincent occupies the northern part of the Grenadines archipelago. St. Vincent is an island of volcanic origin. The other islands of the Grenadines archipelago are small, the largest being Bequia, Mustique, and Caen. There are only nine inhabited islands. The Grenadines are considered one of the most beautiful places in the Caribbean.
Thirty-two islands and coral reefs, like the steps of a staircase stretching from St. Vincent to Grenada. It's real gift for divers and yachtsmen. St. Vincent's beaches are covered in black volcanic sand; the exception is the white sandy beaches at the southern end of the island. The birdlife here is unusually diverse. The coastal waters abound are full of fish, crustaceans, and mollusks. There are several forest and ornithological reserves on the islands in order to preserve nature.
The main airport for St. Vincent and the Grenadines is Kingstown E. T. Joshua Airport, also known as Arnos Vale. Mustique Island has a small local airport.
The islands of the archipelago have a few yacht marinas and many sheltered anchorages and mooring buoys for yachts.
