Charlestown Bay is located on the west coast of Canouan Island. It is the largest and most sheltered bay on the island from the prevailing winds.
Yachts usually are anchored or pick up one of the mooring buoys scattered along the east and south-east shores of Grand Bay - the central part of Charlestown Bay. There are many mooring buoys and they belong to different owners. The quality of the anchoring is different. It is worth to dive and checking the condition of the mooring. The price of mooring a yacht at a mooring buoy is about 30 USD per day. You can have anchorage at depths of 3-6 meters. The bottom is sand, seaweed, corals, rock outcrops. The anchor holds well on the sand. Due to the specific coastal relief in the bay there are strong gusts of wind from different directions.
On the shore there are a few bars, restaurants and stores. At the ferry dock in the center of the bay you can refuel with water.
