Baliceaux is a small private island that is included in the Grenadines island , which lies between the larger islands of St. Vincent and Grenada. The island is located 10 miles south of St. Vincent and 5 miles south-east of Bequia Island. Baliceaux stretches 1.3 miles from north to south. The island is uninhabited. It is now for sale.
The shoreline is smooth, but yachts can be anchored on the leeward side even in not-so-quiet weather. The landforms are hilly, partially covered by forest. Many white-sand beaches, protected by reefs, are interested for diving and snorkeling. A great place for hiking. The island is home to a large colony of tortoises.
Balico was discovered by Spanish sailors in the 15th century and has a long and interesting history. During the Caribbean Wars of 1769-1795, Gun Hill, the highest point on the island at nearly 3,901 feet above sea level, served as a lookout point for soldiers during the Caribbean Wars of 1772-1797.
