Mustique Island

Mustique is a small, private island that is part of the Grenadines island chain that lies between the larger islands of Saint Vincent and Grenada. The island is 14 miles south of St. Vincent.

Mustique today is luxury resort. Yacht anchoring off the island is permitted only in Britannia Bay on the leeward (west) side of the island.

The island has an airport that accepts small planes. The only scheduled charter flight to Mustique is from Barbados.

More information about Mustique you can find on the island's website www.mustique-island.com.

The island was discovered by the Spaniards in the 15th century. Then it was used by pirates for about 200 years. As a result of struggle between England and France for possession of the Grenadines, in 1838, Mustique finally became part of the British Empire as a colony. In 1969, Mustique became part of the new Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The island is owned by the Mustique Company, which includes owners of real estate on the island, the wealthiest people from 17 countries, who own about 100 of Mustique's private villas.
