The anchorage at Chateaubelair Bay is an ideal place to explore the nature of Saint Vincent. From here you can take many interesting walks and hikes inland the island. These can be short and easy walks, such as the Darke View Falls, or longer and more difficult ones, such as the ascent of the Soufriere Volcano.
Darke View Falls
From the beach to the waterfall about two kilometers and, if you want, most of the way you can by car.
The part of the path from the parking to the waterfall passes through a bamboo forest.
There is a viewpoint and picnic area at the waterfall.
If you want, you can swim under the waterfall.
Hot Springs on the Wallilabou River
The route to the hot springs on the Wallilabou River is a bit longer.
Part of the way will have to go along the riverbed.
These are the only hot springs on St. Vincent Island.
Soufriere Volcano
The hike to the volcano will take all day. The peak is at an altitude of 1,234 meters.
The path is quite difficult in some places.
For a hike to the volcano, it is best to take a guide or join a group.
These and many other hiking trails, as well as horseback riding, kayaking along the coast, and diving are offered by the Richmond Vale Hiking & Diving Center, located north of Chateaubelle Bay. The Center's phone number is +1 784 458 2255, Email info@richmondvalehiking.com
