By car around Lefkas

Yachtsmen who have rented a yacht on Lefkas, we recommend to arrive here for a day or two before the start of the yacht trip and rent a car and drive around the island. You will not only see the island, but you will also feel the local atmosphere and get to know the true life of its inhabitants.

Ligia. Seaside village with sandy beach and trees. 9 km.

Nydri. Quite a large village on the Lefkada, rich in greenery. In the sea opposite lie the islets of Madouri (Vala Oritis island), Sparta, Helonaki, Scorpios (private property of the Onassis family), and nearby is the peninsula of Agia Kyriaki with the Derpfeld house on top. At 2 km from Nydri in the inner part of the island, behind the village of Rakhi there is a waterfall. 20 km.

Vliho. A seaside village on the shore of the closed bay of the same name. Opposite Vliho is the picturesque village of Geni. 25 km. A crossroad from which the road leads (2 km) to the village Poros and then (another 4 km) to the picturesque shore of Mikros-Gialos.

Sivota is a village on the shore of a fjord with crystal clear water.

Vasiliki. A village close to Nidri in terms of popularity among tourists. It is located in the southern part of the island on the shore of a large, wind-protected bay, with pebbles and sand beach. This bay is a true paradise for surfing. From here you can take a boat trip to the beautiful beach of Agiofili and the Sappho Rock near Cape Lefkatas, where in ancient times the famous "dive in the sea" took place. From the huge steep rock, at the foundation of which the usually furious waves of the Ionian Sea crashed, according to legend, those condemned to death were thrown down. Those who escaped death were given life. From here, too, those who sought salvation from incurable love were thrown. 

Agios Petros. An agricultural village in a very picturesque area with a view of Vassiliki.

Porto Katsiki offers one of the most picturesque landscapes in Greece with a steep cliff, a wonderful sandy beach and crystal clear blue water.

Kalamitsi. A village surrounded by olive trees, on a high plateau (380 m above sea level). The road from here descends to the picturesque unspoiled sandy beaches.

Kafisma is one of the most picturesque places on Lefkada. There are taverns and a spacious parking lot. On the northern edge of the beach there are very interesting rocks.

Agios Nikitas is a picturesque fishing village, which has recently become a tourist destination.
