Stavros Bay is the large bay, located on the south-west side of the island.
Stavros Bay consists of two large bays, the northern and the eastern. Both bays usually have a wave, which makes anchorage in them not very comfortable. Stavros Bay is not recommended for overnight stop during the Meltemi season, but good for swimming and dining with calm weather.
In the north bay, you have to approach close enough to shore for anchorage. In strong south-easterly winds, the most suitable anchorage is in the east bay of Stavros.
There is also an anchorage south-east of Psili Ammos, which is also acceptable in south-easterly winds. The depths here are shallow - 3-8 meters. Holding is good.
