Yacht mooringsin in Platys Gialos

Fishport Platys Gialos is located on the south-east coast of Sifnos 2.3 miles from the southern tip of island.

At Platis Gialos Fishport, yachts moor stern to the south breakwater using fixed mooring lines. There are a total of 15 mooring spots. Maximum allowable length of yachts is 20 meters. Depths at the breakwater are from 3 to 6 meters. Good shelter from the waves during Meltemi, but not from the wind. During Meltemi mooring is complicated by strong broadside winds.

Yachts can be anchored to the west of the port in depths of 3-10 meters on the sandy bottom. Holding is good. Good shelter from Meltemi, during which anchoring here is safer and more comfortable than in the port.

There is a good beach and a nice village with many tavernas on the shore. There are several stores and markets. Good walks in the surrounding area on hiking trails.
