Lipsi is a small but very attractive island. Lipsi Island stretches from north-west to south-east, it is only 4.2 miles long and about two miles wide. The nearest inhabited islands are Leros, five miles to the south, and Patmos, seven miles to the west.
Only city and port of the island is located on a large enclosed bay on the south-west coast. The town and harbor are very attractive and well maintained. It seems that many of today's residents once immigrated to Australia and have now returned. They bring with them a certain wealth and a more cosmopolitan outlook than one would expect on such a small island.
In addition to the island's main harbor, where yachts can be moored at the pier, Lipsi has several sheltered anchorages.
The island of Lipsi, although visited by tourists, but such crowds as in Rhodes or Kos are not here.
