Platis Gialos Bay is located on the north-east coast of Lipsi, 1.5 miles to south-east of the northern tip of the island.

Platis Gialos Bay is well sheltered from south-west, west and north-west winds, but it is open for the east winds. It is a very pleasant bay, a favorite for swimming by locals. It is only 3 km from the city. The bottom is sandy and the anchor at a depth of 4 - 5 meters holds good. There is a small tavern on the shore, which is open only during the day.
