The main attraction of the island of Dugi otok is undoubtedly the Natural Park of Talascica with its freshwater lake Mir. On the island there are no large settlements and significant historical and architectural sites. The main thing here is nature. However, the Veli Rat lighthouse, the highest on the Adriatic is worth a visit. Note also the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Sali and the Church of St. Pelegrin in Savar.
Telascica is a nature park in Croatia in the south-eastern part of the island of Dugi otok is located around the bay of the same name. The park area also includes 13 small islands near Dugi otok and 6 islands inside the bay of Telascica. The total area of the park is 70.5 sq. km, of which 25.95 sq. km on land (Dugi-Otok and small islands) and 44.55 sq. km of sea area. The park was founded in 1988.
One of the most famous natural attractions of the National Park is a salt lake Mir, separated from the sea and the bay Telascica by hilly ridges. The water in the lake is slightly salty (less than in the sea) and the mud from the lake is said to be famous for its healing properties.
It is worth climbing up to one of the viewpoints on the rocky on south-west coast of Dugi Otok Island, which offers magnificent views of the cliffs and the sea.
Veli Rat Lighthouse
The height of the lighthouse is 42 meters. You can walk to it, leaving your yacht on a buoy in Panther Bay.
