Zirje Island

Zirje is the largest of the islands of the Sibenik archipelago, located 10 miles south-west of Sibenik. To the north-east of Zirje lies another island of the Sibenik archipelago - Kaprije, to the north - Murter island, to the north-west - Kornati archipelago. The entire population of the island (less than 200 people) lives in the only village of the island and is engaged in the cultivation of grapes and olives and fishing, as well as services to tourists, primarily yachtsmen. The coastline of the island is quite indented and in any wind direction it is possible to find a suitable bay for the mooring of a yacht.
