Sumartin is a small port and town in the east of Brac island. Most of the islanders are engaged in agriculture. First of all it is winemaking and olive growing. Fishing and tourism are developed.
The bay is relatively sheltered from the Bora and Sirocco. When winds come in from the south and south-east, a nasty wave comes into the bay. Yachts (private and charter) do not often visit to Sumartin, because it lies away from popular yachting routes.
Large yachts can be anchored at depths of 30-40 m in the western part of the bay. Yachts with a draft of less than 2.5 m can be moored alongside to inner side of the breakwater.
There is a fuel station at the west part of the bay.
