Natural Parque Corralejo

Natural Parque Corralejo (Parque natural de Corralejo) is an area on the north-eastern coast of Fuerteventura that is more than 10 km long.

Long sandy beaches with a turquoise ocean is one of the famous attractions of the Canary Island of Fuerteventura.

Parque natural de Corralejo is an interesting place for lovers of exotic desert landscapes and fans of endless beaches covered with soft white sand.

The park is dominated by desert landscapes with sparse vegetation, but it is home to many exotic birds, as well as unique reptiles and insects.

The park is called a little Sahara.

The park begins from the resort town of Playa de Corralejo and includes the famous sand dunes of El Jable, a series of luxurious beaches and the volcano Montana Roja, which can be climbed to the top.

Even in the sands there is life.

Through the reserve passes the road FV-1. You can leave your car along the road.

Since there are often strong winds in Fuerteventura, the road in the area of the reserve is covered with sand and then these bulldozers come into work.

The unique landscape has been under protection since 1982 and is declared a nature reserve, where any building is forbidden. However, before receiving special status, two hotels Riu Oliva Beach Resort and Riu Palace Tres Islas were built here. They are located a few kilometers away from the town of Corralejo and stand alone amongst the sands.
