Atheni Bay (Ormos Atheni) is located on the north-east coast of Meganisi Island at the end of a deep bay stretching from north-east to south-west inland of the island.
The yacht pier is located in the south corner of the bay and can accommodate about 10-12 yachts. Mooring yachts stern or bow to the pier at their own anchor. Note that the center section is mainly for ferries and there are no mooring rings.
Depths along the piers range from 2.5 m at the north end to 2.25 m at the south end. The anchor holds well in silt and seaweed, but the condition of the mooring rings is not good and you should be checked it carefully, especially if strong winds are forecast. Shelter on the waterfront is good in almost all winds, although unpleasant ripples are possible in strong north-easterly winds. Toilets and showers (euro 2.50) in the cafe.
A hundred meters north of the pier there is a rather dilapidated pontoon of Nagios Tavern, which can accommodate 10-12 boats. The depth of the pontoon is about 1.5 meters, so it is better to approach it by the bow.
There is no electricity either on the pier or the pontoon. The water can have from the nearest tavern, using a long hose.
Please note that as you move around the bay towards the port there is a dangerous reef in the middle of the bay from a small cape to the northeast.
