Fortress of Saint Michael

Saint Michael's Fortress is one of the main attractions of the Croatian city of Sibenik. It is located slightly above the Cathedral of Saint James. The walls of the fortress offer a picturesque view of the Croatian city of Sibenik, the surrounding area and the magnificent freshwater lake. Saint Michael's Fortress was built of white stone in the XV-XVII centuries. The size of St. Michael's Fortress is truly astonishing, and its walls are remarkably preserved, unlike the internal buildings.
