Lanta - Butang

The Lanta-Bhutang area extends from Lanta Island to the south-southeast to the Malaysian border for approximately 70 miles and includes the mainland coasts of Trang and Satun provinces, the Butang Archipelago, the rather large island of Tarutao and many smaller islands.

The Lanta - Butang area is much less visited by tourists and yachtsmen than Phuket - Krabi. There are no marinas or fishports, only anchorages. It is quite difficult to refill water and food supplies.

Of those who travel by charter yachts rented here, it is mainly those who have taken a yacht for the Phuket - Langkawi trip or back. This is provided by one of the charter companies with bases on both islands.
