Anchorages at the Rock Islands

The Rock Islands (Ko Rok Nai and Ko Rok Nok) are located 15 miles south of Lanta Island. The size of each island is 1x2 kilometers. The Rock Islands are separated by a 250-meter wide strait. The Rock Islands are famous for their beaches and coral gardens.

The islands are covered with untouched jungle where live two-meter-long monitor lizards, hundreds of species of birds and small rodents. The Rock Islands and their coastal waters belong to the Mu Ko Lanta National Marine Park. Only national park rangers live here.

The islands are popular with yachtsmen. Yachts anchorage are allowed here. The islands are excellent spots for snorkeling and diving suitable for beginners becouse there are no strong currents in the surrounding waters, the water is clear, visibility is excellent and depth is shallow. The underwater world near the islands is rich in tropical fish, white and blue hard corals, actiniae and other marine life.
