The Isole Egadi is a small archipelago located ten miles west of the western tip of the island of Sicily. The archipelago includes the islands of Favignana, Marettimo, Levanzo and a number of small islets and rocks around them.
The Egadi Islands are the largest marine reserve in the Mediterranean Sea and therefore have a special regulation for visiting them, including yachts. Thanks to the reserve regulations introduced in the Egadi Islands in 1991, hundreds of species of marine life have been preserved here, including corals and the most exotic mammal for these places - a species of seal, as well as many dolphins, turtles and even sperm whales.
For traveling around the Egadi Islands, it is most convenient to rent a yacht in Trapani or Marsala. Before traveling to the Egadi Islands by yacht, we recommend that the skipper of the yacht carefully study the rules of yachts in the reserve.
The closest yacht charter locations to the Egadi Islands are in the west of Sicily - these are Trapani and Marsala.
