The small fishport of Panormos is located on the north-east coast, five miles from the northern tip of the island.
Panormos harbor provides some shelter from the meltemi, but it is not very convenient, because during the meltemi a reflected wave forms is in the harbor. In calm weather yachts can be anchored at the eastern pier (1), at the end of which the depth is 4-5 meters, or at the anchor opposite the waterfront. At the quay itself the depth is 1,5-2 meters.
During Meltemi, the best shelter is in Ayia Thalassa (2) (translated from the Greek as the Holy Sea). Here yachts can be anchored at a depth of about 5.0 meters. From here it is easy to reach the little harbor by dinghy where is many taverns on the shore.
At the pier you can refuel with water, and in the village to buy a fairly limited set of food.
