Makarska Coast or Makarska Rivijera is a resort region in Middle Dalmatia, on the Adriatic coast of Croatia. It stretches for 60 kilometers between Brela and Gradac. The largest settlement is the town of Makarska.
Makarska seashore is a narrow strip of land between the sea and the mountain range Biokovo. The coast consists almost entirely of a series of small resort villages, sometimes alternating with pine groves.
The Adriatic Highway runs along the entire coast. The ferries Makarska-Sumartin and Drvenik-Susurai connect the coast with the islands of Brac and Hvar.
This is one of the most popular resort destinations of Croatia, the advantages of which include a mild Mediterranean climate, good beaches, developed tourism infrastructure and the ability to combine beach holidays with mountain hiking in the Biokovo array.
