Makarska is located on the Croatian mainland coast, about a third of the way from Split to Dubrovnik.

In Makarska there are berths for a small number of yachts in the north-east corner of the harbor, 50 meters north of the large pier. The depths at the waterfront are 3.0 meters on the E side of the bay, but on the west side the depths are about a meter. The short pier at the south-east side of the harbor is 4.0 to 5.0 meters deep, but is in constant use by tourist yachts during the day. Sometimes you can find a berth on it for the night.

The entire shoreline of the harbor bay is concrete with mooring bollards for yachts mooring. Yachts are moored using fixed mooring lines.
