Makarska (about 14,000 inhabitants) is located in the heart of Dalmatia, at the crossroads of all the ancient roads of Croatia. The town and port of Makarska lie on the so-called Makarska Riviera on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, seven miles south-east of Baska Voda harbor and four miles north-west of the small harbor of Tucepi. The island of Brac is six miles to the west. The steep mountain range of Biokovo begins at the coast and extends two miles inland.
The natural bay by which Makarska is located has allowed the creation of several hundred meters of mooring space, although only the eastern part of the harbor has suitable depths for mooring a yacht.
The city has a large number of charming cafes, restaurants and pubs, where the music and fun does not stop until morning. In summer there are many cultural events in Makarska, so yachtsmen will not be bored if the weather does not let them go to sea.
