St. George Bay (or San Gorg) is located in the south-east of the island of Malta at the western end of the large enclosed bay of Marsaxlokk.
The anchorage in St George Bay is more sheltered than in Marsaxlokk Bay. It is more spacious, although a lot of space is reserved for local commercial and fishing vessels. Anchor is at a depth of 5-10 metres. The seabed is sand and silt. Hoolding is good. There is a poster on the shore forbidding anchorage here, but so far (2022) the port police have not expelled or fined.
There is a fairly large seaside resort town with many shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Restaurants are mainly concentrated around the sandy beach. There are buses to Valletta and the airport every 15-20 minutes.
