Gneja Bay is located at the northern end of the west coast of Malta, 4.6 miles (6.5 miles by sea) from the northern tip of the island.
In Gnejna Bay yachts can be anchored on depths of 2.5-15 metres. The seabed in shallow depths is mostly sand. The deeper it is, the more seaweed there is. Accordingly, the deeper you anchor, the worse your anchor holds. The bay is exposed to the prevailing north-westerly winds, so overnight anchoring is possible only when the weather is consistently calm or the winds blow from the south.
The bay has some interesting sites for snorkelling.
