Yacht anchorage in Dwejra Bay

Dweira Bay is located on the west coast of Gozo Island.

Although Dwejra Bay is sheltered from almost all winds, the prevailing north-westerly winds make for some unpleasant swell in it. Therefore, anchoring in Dweira Bay is most comfortable in consistently calm weather or in all winds except north-westerly to south-westerly. The yacht anchor is on a depth of 7-10 metres. The bottom is sandy with some seaweed. Holding is good. Entrance to the bay is via the south passage only.

The bay is surrounded by fairly high steep cliffs. There is no civilisation on the bay shore.
